Orbs: spirits, camera anomalies, or something else?

I have been coming across the subject of orbs quite a lot recently. For those readers not familiar, orbs are spheres of light that appear on digital photographs and video. This has become a phenomenon of late with orbs appearing on photos all over the world, then getting uploaded to the internet for all to see.

Interesting fact: Google are reporting 90,000 searches a month for “orbs”.

My research shows that there are 3 orb camps:

1) The skeptics. Orbs are dust particles, water drops, and smudges on the lens – end of story. This perspective is backed up by Fuji Film’s customer services rep. in a reply to a customer query:

"Floating dust particles may cause white spots appearing at different positions on pictures taken by a digital camera using the flash. Dust in front of a subject reflects the flash light and the image of the dust is captured out of focus.
Dust, snow, rain, pollen, condensation, or any small airborne particles may cause the same problem.
The particle will appear light and big because it is out of focus; it may assume a shape similar to the aperture of the camera, usually round."

2) The believers: Orbs are representations of spirits, ghosts, or angels registering on our modern camera equipment .

The “orb believers” are generally of the belief that orbs are everywhere because spirits are everywhere. They will tell you how they will often follow people around and appear behind them or over their heads. They will also argue that other photographs taken on the same day and with the exact same conditions will often show no orbs at all.

The believers include British TV presenter Noel Edmonds. This is a quote from a Daily Mail article on him: “Noel Edmonds believes that the souls of his dead parents follow him everywhere in the form of two orbs, he has revealed.” (the article is not very kind to him or his belief system!)

3) The skeptical believers. Orbs representing other-dimensional beings do exist but not all orbs are created equal. Dust particles are assumed until proved otherwise.

This quote from www.ghostweb.com represents this perspective very well: “Ghost research is more than just snapping a few digital photos that capture an orb or multiple orbs and thinking that these orbs might be spirits. One of the best things that a new ghost hunter could do is take about 100 photos of dust, pollen, spores, rain droplets or other anomalies found in their location to establish a base line to compare later photos.”

The reason I decided to take a look at this subject is because I received some pictures from our medium / healer friend Jeanette Wilson. She is giving healing in the company of her patient and a singular orb that seems to be hovering around her and observing the proceedings. Please note, Jeanette is wearing a compact silver Nu-Me pendant.

Jeanette sent me an update after I first posted this blog:
"Can you add that after resting on my left shoulder the next shot saw the intensity of light in the room increase dramatically. I am attaching the photo where this happened -no orb but light coming down from top right where there was no light fitting. If you compare it to all the other photos it is much brighter."

What convinces me about these orb pictures is that there is only one (2 in one photo) and the fact that it is moving around (significant distances for a dust particle) eliminates a smudge on the lens and strongly suggests something else is going on. This coupled with Jeanette’s proven ability to recognize and communicate with the extra-dimensional makes for a convincing case.

I did a YouTube search and found the following video of an orb. This is convincing in that he addresses the dust issue by trying to generate it in the same room as he shot video of a very active orb. If you look near the end of the video he seems to be getting the orb to appear at his bidding.

I hope I have helped you to make your own mind up. I think I am in group 3 with a firm belief that we haven’t seen the end of this phenomenon.

(Life) Energy Healing

Life energy (also known as prana, chi, ki, Orgone) healing embraces many forms which include the laying on of hands, prana healing, acupuncture, homeopathy, herbalism, flower essences, Rieki, chi kung, therapeutic touch and self-healing.

It makes sense that as we (and everything) are composed of energy that using that same energy - life energy - to heal is possible. In fact it is arguably the only way to achieve a complete cure. All other methods treat the symptoms or stimulate the bodies own healing mechanism – self healing. And so we are back to energy healing. The wheel has gone full circle.

We have to conclude then that there is only one true form of healing – life energy healing. All disease and illness are the result of disturbed energy in the bodies own energy anatomy which is:

• The chakras which are the power centers of the body. When they are out of balance so is the whole body. Have a look at how chakras can be balanced with the Nu-Me pendant in the video below.
• The aura is the energy field surrounding the body. It extends for some feet and its color is dictated by spiritual, emotional and physical states. All dis-ease is held here as energetic disturbances. The aura is also affected by EMF (electromagnetic fields) and Geopathic stress. See how a live cell phone sends the aura into chaos on the video. Some people are able to see auras. Auras can also been seen by using Kirlian photography and bio-feedback aura imaging technology.
• Meridians are the body’s energy channels. There are several large meridians and hundreds of smaller ones. One of the major meridians runs down the front of the body from crown to base chakra. Another runs up the back from base to crown. Taoists have a meditation that circulates life energy (prana, chi, ki) through these channels.

Eastern cultures, which have a holistic approach to healing, have understood and used life energy healing for thousands of years.

In the west the acceptance that life energy is in fact “life” and can be used to heal at a causal (deepest) level has been slower. It was Wilhelm Reich, who discovered what he called Orgone which is merely life energy under another title. He discovered a way to move energy and made healing boxes called Orgone accumulators which people sat inside, often producing remarkable healing results. He was, however, ahead of his time and sixty years farther on his work is still not understood - or accepted.

Federation Of Light (part 2)

So it is Wednesday and I'm still holding the "World Ends Tuesday" banner in my hand (along with quite a few others!). In case you have been in hibernation, giant space ships did not appear over the major cities of the world on October 14th as predicted. However, something rather amazing did happen - a coming together of many many people from around the world with a common perspective and a common wish:

"The world is a mess,it's time for us to make a change, and some help would be nice if its on offer!

If you understand that we human beings are actually creating our reality and that it only takes a percentage of us (reportedly one tenth of one percent of us - 6000 odd) to create critical mass and change the world forever, this has some exciting implications.

Could it be that just the idea that we are part of a galactic family -and therefore so much more than these troubled animated pieces of meat that seems to have become the consensus - that could fan the winds of change?

The cynics and non-believers, of course have had a field day with the non-arrival of our galactic cousins and Blossom has born the brunt of their outpourings. Some of the believers have chosen to shoot the messenger as some sort of payback for their disappointment. Whatever your beliefs about this event / non-event I will tell you that Blossom is a brave, warm-hearted soul that spoke her truth to the world. She has earned my complete respect.

1.Hello …. Not sure what to say, much talk and differences as to what happened … or didn’t. Need you to know, I for one, still LOVE you …handy to have an explanation straight from the horse’s mouth though.

We are with you in our splendour and Light. We do not expect you to understand for we had said in honour that we would do what we would do and then to great disappointment we did not uphold that honour. That is how it is seen through human eyes is it not?

Some eyes maybe … I just can’t help but KNOW you are of TRUTH although many are saying I have been deceived by the darkness. I have searched my soul and cannot go along with that, for immediately now I am back with you I feel the deep LOVE for you and my body is tingling with Truth.

We are most concerned for your well being dearest lady. We are aware of the enormous responsibility that has been placed on your shoulders. Yet, do you think we would have given you this position if we thought you could not uphold your spirit and your LIGHT?

Not really sure what that position is right now.

You are the one who has brought forth the understanding of what is to come. You listened to your soul and you listened to your reasoning. You heard from this that we are here and that this is just the beginning, just the way things should be.

I don’t feel any anger towards you. However I would like clarification, (and so would a few other million folks just quietly!). What exactly was the reason for the ‘no show’… big breath … over to you …

We are here; most of you can feel this in your being. It was proposed that we remain unseen due to the upheaval we would cause on your plane. There was much distrust from those who have been deeply influenced by those who remain in the dark on your planet and the decision was made to abort the actual appearance for the safety of your race.

(I was interrupted and not able to resume until a day later … i.e. now!)

With all respect, you said you had everything covered. You must have known of this, so why was your last message as it was, so positive you were coming, just two days before.

If we had said two days before that we were calling it off, what would you have done?

Freaked out big time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blossom, All is appropriately placed in the big scheme of things. Look how your world has become more aware of themselves. This can only be seen as successful in that respect. Is it not so that many hundreds of sightings have been captured upon your camera lenses? Is it not so that in your great cities we are showing to you LIGHTS in the sky that souls of your earth will not accept deceivances as an explanation? If our message had not been sent out by you, would your world be viewing these phenomena as they are? We have succeeded dear one. We have succeeded. And it is not over yet ...

Here we go again… I think that’s why I was shying away from contacting you because I had a feeling you might be calling me up for duty and I thought I had taken leave for a bit!

As we stated ... Expect the unexpected. In the fullness of time our words shall be accepted as Truth. There shall be no option.

Many of you can feel the LOVE we are sending as we said we would. Your planet is waking up to Truths not only within themselves but within the atrocities of hidden agendas that have been controlling your planet for too long. See how brave you souls of earth can be when you walk in your LIGHT.

May I say … I actually don’t have a problem with all of this as you know. Once my ego excused itself and left I could just feel the extreme LOVE that was being sent and I had the privilege of being sent consumous amounts of Light Love, courage and understanding by thousands. Many were not as blessed as me in that respect. What would you say to them? Many are asking for your take on it all. Is there more you would wish to express?

Indeed. Each soul in their individual form is experiencing the growth within their soul in one form or another., Each soul is having to decipher for themselves what all of this meant to them. What outcome could be better than the soul searching within each one that is taking place?
Do you see? Do you feel this awakening? We assure you in LOVE it is happening. Be of the DIVINEST LOVE dear ones of earth. Even those who have convinced their souls that we are not even figments of their imagination, shall in coming days find their confusion turn into understanding.

With respect, not for me, but for the many who shall read this … that’s what we thought was going to be accomplished on 14th OCT!!

The message has served its purpose. Far more effectively than you can imagine. IT WAS NOT A FAILURE.

I had said to you before the ‘non event’, that no excuse would do. Not for the world s sake or indeed mine, because this thing had become so big that it would simply make everyone lose faith AGAIN. I guess you don’t seem to be making an excuse. Pretty relieved about that. Many are saying that I knew on another level of myself that this is how it was going to be. Clearly, not on the human level. I doubt any human in their right mind would agree to doing what I did if they knew you weren’t going to show up!!! And … yep … I can accept that. I have bounced right back because of my knowing of LOVE and all it stands for. ALL IS AS SHOULD BE. I KNOW THAT. And that’s why I don’t really need an answer but I understand that many do.

It is time for us to close now. We are aware of pressures upon you on your captive time values regarding matters you must attend to. Yet we should ask if we may continue our communication when it is appropriate?

Are you asking me to continue on a weekly basis?

No… but on a regular one.

Would that not be weekly then??

Could you send me a secretary then?

Would you rely on her to turn up on time?

Classic! Love it. Truly I have no concerns about the whole affair. I feel fantastic … because of the Love that is already on this planet and due to your no show, it has allowed us to show each other who we TRULY are. Nice plan guys. Nice plan. And I KNOW when we are ready ,not just a few of us, … but the majority of us… you shall reveal yourselves in the manner that we were all trying to imagine.

You have probably heard about this by now as it is all over the internet but if you haven't -remember you heard it here first!

Now predictions are funny things to come across and come pre-packaged with a dilemma: To share or not to share. Everybody would like to be the bearer of good news or useful information but who wants to be the one on Wednesday holding a placard that says the world ends on Tuesday?

The lady at the source of this information is a psychic channel by the name of Blossom Goodchild.She is a switched on, down to earth lady that wears one of our Nu-Me pendants (this has not biased me in the least!).

On researching it appears that Alabama has a NASA space centre. .

The Prison Of Beliefs

We human beings are like relentless warriors that constantly fight, almost to the death if necessary, to defend something that doesn’t even belong to us – our belief systems.

Belief systems are like a box of tinted glasses handed down from our parents with instructions to look through a particular pair for a particular circumstance. Our box gets added to by the school system, our religions, and, GOD HELP US, the media but by a very young age our universe is pretty rigidly defined.

“The human mind is a lot like the human egg, and the human egg has a shut-off device. When one sperm gets in, it shuts down so the next one can’t get in. The human mind has a big tendency of the same sort.. “ Charlie Munger 1995.

Whenever something is presented to us in life for which we have a suitable pair of glasses to see – great, it’s part of our universe and all is well in our garden. If an idea, event, or thing is presented that isn’t brought into focus by any of our glasses, our initial response is to ignore or deny it. The sword gets unsheathed just in case and a wary eye follows it until it goes off the radar.
But, if this renegade idea dares to stand right in our path and confront us. WOA! INTRUDER ALERT INTRUDER ALERT! Swords are now on guard ready to strike and, whether the intruder is a strange flavor of ice cream or an enlightened view of our cosmic connection, it’s toast! – Unless…….

What if we are confronted by something way outside our belief system that is too big to ignore or deny and can’t easily be dispatched with a swipe of the rapier of denigration and ridicule. This is when something quite amazing and powerful happens: the whole belief system breaks down as all the glasses get spilled on the floor. This is chaotic and stressful when it’s happening but very much “short-term pain for long-term gain”. The gain comes when you are putting the glasses back in the box. This time you get to choose which ones are actually useful to you. Perhaps you might go out and by some shiny new pairs that will allow you to see the world in a whole new light. Perhaps some will get discarded as you see them as scratched and limiting your vision. Your universe has now expanded with many new and exciting possibilities.

Our devices have been known to do this for people. In these cases it usually requires a third party to introduce something like a p.e.bal into the life of the non-believer. This is because people will accept very high levels of suffering before they will orchestrate the challenging of their own belief systems! Quite often the p.ebal will be brought in by stealth in response to a specific measurable problem such as night terrors or insomnia. The problem goes away or is notably reduced in severity and then comes the great reveal with the corresponding belief system confrontation.

Now I am guessing that most people reading this are pretty open minded with nice expansive belief systems. But, what if I told you there is something predicted to take place on the world stage next month that will rock just about everybody’s universe?

More News about Energy Saving Bulbs

-and even more health hazards!

Energy saving bulbs are in the news again with yet even more information about health risks being disclosed as count down towards the ban on incandescent bulbs in New Zealand gets nearer.

So not only do energy saving bulbs pose a danger to our health because of the mercury they contain, the high levels of EMF(Electromagnetic fields) they emit that can eventually make us electrosensitive, and the fact that they can ignite - but now we learn that they are also harmful to our eyes.

Now D day gets closer in New Zealand when in October 2009 the government makes energy saving bulbs compulsory. More information is coming to light about how energy saving bulbs can affect our health and safety.

Optometrists are now saying that the light provided by energy saving bulbs is insufficient to read by. This obviously strains the eyes irreversibly and is causing deterioration. More and more people are needing to wear glasses which have to be updated more frequently. It was also claimed that the light that they provided in corridors and hallways was often not enough to provide safety. They caused these thoroughfares to be danger zones.

So the findings on energy saving bulbs to date are:
• The mercury in them could either poison us, drive us mad, or both.
• The mercury in them will contaminate (poison) the environment.
• EMF radiation from them is so high it can cause electrosensitivity or at the very least will cause our immune system to overwork, insomnia, headaches, depression, irritability and fatigue.
• They can suddenly ignite and are a potential fire hazard.
• The light they emit is not powerful enough to read by and can cause deterioration of the eyesight.
• Used in hallways their light is insufficient to ensure safety.

Government force means another choice is being taken away. But - as more true facts are given and lies uncovered. As the public become more aware. As people are making more and more demands to being treated as respected, intelligent citizens whose voice counts. As long as we don’t just say “Baa” and like sheep blindly follow those that have only a financial interest and not one of our welfare. Then we can take back our power and say “No” to D day in October 2009 (or what ever date governments in other countries give) to compulsory energy saving bulbs.

We can demand to be given an affordable alternative that is safe to us, our families and to the environment before they ban incandescent bulbs!

Are Drugs Harmful After Their Expiry Date?

The pharmaceutical Industry as we all know is huge. Its control is also further reaching than we will probably ever know. Cures are suppressed because it would cost them too much in lost profits and so too it seems is the information as to what happens to the safety of drugs after their expiry date.

Maybe this means less in the western world than in developing countries where an “expired” drug could save a life. When we lived in Kenya we saw first hand the struggle of people to pay for and receive treatment and drugs and the hardships of dedicated doctors trying to do their job efficiently with so little recourses.

It was our friend who was also our doctor when we lived there that sent me this information. It may not be life or death to most of us, but it does wake us up to how the pharmaceutical industry keeps us in the dark and as a result extends their power over us!

Does the expiration date on a bottle of a medication mean anything? If a bottle of Tylenol, for example, says something like Do not use after June 1998, and it is August 2002, should you take the Tylenol?
Should you discard it? Can you get hurt if you take it? Will it simply have lost its potency and do you no good? In other words, are drug manufacturers being honest with us when they put an expiration date on their medications, or is the practice of dating just another drug industry scam, to get us to buy new medications when the old ones that purportedly have expired are still perfectly good?

These are the pressing questions I investigated after my mother-in-law recently said to me, It doesn't mean anything, when I pointed out that the Tylenol she was about to take had expired 4 years and a few months ago. I was a bit mocking in my pronouncement -- feeling superior that I had noticed the chemical corpse in her cabinet -- but she was equally adamant in her reply, and is generally very sage about medical issues. So I gave her a glass of water with the purportedly dead drug, of which she took 2 capsules for a pain in the upper back. About a half hour later she reported the pain seemed to have eased up a bit. I said; you could be having a placebo effect, not wanting to simply concede she was right about the drug, and also not actually knowing what I was talking about. I was just happy to hear that her pain had eased, even before we had our evening cocktails and hot tub dip (we were in Leisure World, near Laguna Beach, California, where the hot tub is bigger than most Manhattan apartments, and Heaven, as generally portrayed, would be raucous by comparison).

Upon my return to NYC and high-speed connection, I immediately scoured the medical databases and general literature for the answer to my question about drug expiration labeling. And voila, no sooner
than I could say Screwed again by the pharmaceutical industry, I had my answer. Here are the simple facts:

First, the expiration date, required by law in the United States, beginning in 1979, specifies only the date the manufacturer guarantees the full potency and safety of the drug -- it does not mean how long the drug is actually good or safe to use.

Second, medical authorities uniformly say it is safe to take drugs past their expiration date -- no matter how expired the drugs purportedly are. Except for possibly the rarest of exceptions, you won't get hurt and you certainly won't get killed. A contested example of a rare exception is a case of renal tubular damage purportedly caused by expired tetracycline (reported by G. W. Frimpter and colleagues in JAMA, 1963; 184:111). This outcome (disputed by other scientists) was supposedly caused by a chemical transformation of the active ingredient.

Third, studies show that expired drugs may lose some of their potency over time, from as little as 5% or less to 50% or more (though usually much less than the latter). Even 10 years after the expiration date, most drugs have a good deal of their original potency. So wisdom dictates that if your life does depend on an expired drug, and you must have 100% or so of its original strength, you should probably toss it and get a refill, in accordance with the cliché, better safe than sorry. If your life does not depend on an expired drug -- such as that for headache, hay fever, or menstrual cramps -- take it and see what happens.

One of the largest studies ever conducted that supports the above points about expired drug labeling was done by the US military 15 years ago, according to a feature story in the Wall Street Journal (March 29, 2000), reported by Laurie P. Cohen. The military was sitting on a $1 billion stockpile of drugs and facing the daunting process of destroying and replacing its supply every 2 to 3 years, so it began a testing program to see if it could extend the life of its inventory. The testing, conducted by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ultimately covered more than 100 drugs, prescription and over-the-counter. The results showed that about 90% of them were safe and effective as far as 15 years past their original expiration date.

I’m not here to try to point out all the problems of the world, because there are too many. But, despite all the problems, all the things that are wrong, there are some things that are really, really good. Despite all the ugliness, there is something very, very beautiful. Despite all the mistakes, there is one thing that is perfect. And that perfection, that beauty, is in you.
There are people who like to point out all the problems, and in a way, I’m glad they do. But I think there should be some people who point out the good, the beautiful, because this life, despite all the problems, is beautiful. And sometimes, caught up in our troubles, our turmoil, our ideas, our concepts, we forget what we have been given.

Who are we? Are we just the sum of all the things that happen around us? Are we just people who wake up in the morning and realize our responsibilities, “I have to do this, I have to do this”? Or is there something more, something inside each human being that wants to smile, to be thankful, to feel gratitude, to feel joy?

I speak from my own experience. I have responsibilities. There are good days, and there are bad days. In the good days, I want to be happy. I want to feel peace. I want to feel connected to myself. Then there are the bad days. And even then, I just want to be happy.

Nobody can explain happiness. You know what it is. It isn’t just smiling or laughing or a time of day when you become happy. Happiness comes because you feel good. We think it is feeling happy about something—our child graduates from college; we win a lottery ticket; we get a promotion. We think our happiness is associated with all these things.

There is only one person who can make you happy, and it happens to be a person you know very little about. Strange. You know about your friends, other people—your associates, your colleagues—but very little about yourself, who you are. And you are that one person who can make you very happy.

I see people driving on the highways honking their horns, yelling, screaming. Somehow I get the feeling that they don’t really think life is important. They just want to get to where they’re going. I want you to take a moment and understand something—that your life is incredibly important.

You’re not a number. You’re not a name. You are more than the sum of all your goods and bads. So many people live in fear. But there is a place inside of you that cannot have fear, where you can feel freedom. When somebody has to tell me I am free, I’m not free.

We have our formulas. Happiness has nothing to do with formulas. “This plus this, minus this, equals happiness.” Either you feel happiness or you don’t. Either you feel joy in your life or you don’t.

What do you feel in your life? Because this life is the stage where peace will dance, where happiness will sing a song for you. This life holds promise after promise after promise, gift after gift after gift for you.

I have been watching spring coming. Ah, it is so beautiful to watch spring come. Right outside my office at home, there is a tree, and in the winter, it shed every leaf, down to just bare branches. And then slowly but surely, spring began to come, and not a day was wasted for those green shoots to start appearing. This I call dedication. This I call life. This I call “the grand miracle.” If that tree was human, it would say, “Why are we doing this? Winter will come again, and I will have to shed these leaves again. So forget this—just hibernate.”

It is not logic, but something that transcends logic. Love is not logical. These little shoots wait and wait. They can’t forecast the weather. They don’t think: “These two days are warm, but then the next two days it’s going to rain again, so just wait.” No. For them, it is: “Here it is. The warmth has come. The sun is shining. The temperature is right. Let’s go.” And as tender and delicate as those shoots are, even with two days of cold and rain, they keep on going. There is a drive that is more powerful. And this scene plays out for billions of trees every year.

Your spring has come. It is time to reach within and allow the hope for peace in your life to resurface, to see the good, to understand that good, to once again know and to once again say yes to what you have ignored for so long—you.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS aka ME) is thousands of years old.

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or ME is considered to be a modern disorder but it was written about thousands of years ago in ancient Vedic texts. It was then called Kshayaroga which means chronic weakness.

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS or ME)is a mysterious, complicated disorder characterized by extreme fatigue that doesn't improve with bed rest and may worsen with physical or mental activity. It can affect anyone at any age and is most distressing. It rules the sufferer’s life completely. ME/CFC is distressing and hard to live with both for the sufferer and for their family.

What causes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS aka ME)?

No one really knows! It can occur after an infection, such as a cold or viral illness. Stress can trigger it. Or chronic fatigue syndrome can come on gradually without a clear starting point or obvious cause.

The cause of chronic fatigue syndrome may be an inflammation of the pathways of the nervous system as a response to an autoimmune process, but with nothing measurable in the blood as in other autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
Chronic fatigue syndrome may also occur when a viral illness is complicated by a dysfunctional immune system. Some people with CFS may have a low blood pressure disorder that triggers the fainting reflex.

Chronic fatigue syndrome appears to affect more women than men.

What are the signs and symptoms of Chronic fatigue syndrome?

It is a flu-like condition that can drain your energy and last for years. People previously healthy and full of energy can be suddenly struck down with chronic fatigue syndrome aka ME.

Unlike flu symptoms, which usually subside in a few days or weeks, the signs and symptoms of CFS can last much longer. They may come and go frequently with no identifiable pattern.

In addition to persistent fatigue, not caused by other known medical conditions, chronic fatigue syndrome has eight possible primary signs and symptoms. These include:

• Loss of memory or concentration
• Sore throat
• Painful and mildly enlarged lymph nodes in your neck or armpits
• Unexplained muscle soreness
• Pain that moves from one joint to another without swelling or redness
• Headache of a new type, pattern or severity
• Sleep disturbance
• Extreme exhaustion lasting more than 24 hours after physical or mental exercise.

Medically a person meets the diagnostic criteria of chronic fatigue syndrome when unexplained persistent fatigue occurs for six months or more along with at least four of the eight primary signs and symptoms.

In addition, people with chronic fatigue syndrome have reported other various signs and symptoms that aren't part of the official medical definition. These include:

• Bloating
• Chest pain
• Chronic cough
• Diarrhea
• Dizziness, balance problems or fainting
• Dry mouth
• Earache
• Irregular heartbeat
• Jaw pain
• Morning stiffness
• Nausea
• Chills and night sweats
• Psychological problems, such as depression, irritability, anxiety disorders and panic attacks
• Shortness of breath
• Tingling sensations
• Visual disturbances, such as blurring, sensitivity to light, eye pain and dry eyes
• Weight loss or gain

If you have chronic fatigue syndrome, your symptoms may peak and become stable early on, and then come and go over time. Some people go on to recover completely, while others grow progressively worse.

Of all chronic illnesses, chronic fatigue syndrome is one of the most mysterious. Unlike definite infections, it has no clear cause. There are several possible causes including:

• Depression
• Iron deficiency anemia
• Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
• History of allergies
• Virus infection, such as Epstein-Barr virus or human herpesvirus 6
• Dysfunction in the immune system
• Changes in the levels of hormones produced in the hypothalamus, pituitary glands or adrenal glands
• Mild, chronic low blood pressure (hypotension)
Lack of medical knowledge and understanding of CFS has made determining and describing the characteristics of the condition difficult. There is no medical cure with drugs – even after thousands of years!

So what can a sufferers of CFS/ME do?

Life style changes definitely help. Rest is of paramount importance. Good food a must. Eliminate stress and worry from your life as much as possible. Build up your immune system.

Government makes energy saving bulbs Compulsory

- Ban of incandescent light bulbs chips away a bit more of our freedom

High EMF radiation emitting, mercury containing compact fluorescent lamps better known to many of us as energy-saving bulbs are to be a compulsory alternative in New Zealand to the older safer although admitted less energy efficient, traditional, humble incandescent bulb. Is saving $$$ more important to governments than the health and wellbeing of the people? And why can’t we have both with affordable LED bulbs?

They have done it again! A Government decision that takes away a bit more of our freedom and even worse put our health at risk! All under the guise of being good for us. They talk of the benefits but neglect to tell us that the disadvantages are greater.

New Zealand will next year ban incandescent light bulbs in a bid to conserve energy and cut greenhouse gas emissions, Climate Change Minister David Parker announced on Tuesday 17th June. "It is intended that from late next year, these inefficient incandescent bulbs will be phased out because they waste so much energy," Parker said in a statement.

New Zealand will ban traditional light bulbs in favor of energy-saving alternatives in 2009; new minimum energy standards would mean no fresh stocks of the incandescent bulbs could be imported from October 2009.

“New Zealand is uniquely placed to lead the world in the change to energy efficient lights” said Gordon Wiffen, commercial manager of Philips Lighting!!!! (Vested Interest, perhaps?)

But what are the governments and big corporate businesses not telling us while they have $ signs in their eyes?

How dangerous energy saving bulbs are on our health and the environment.

• They contain mercury which is extremely dangerous if the bulb gets broken and when it is disposed of in landfill.
• They emit high levels of EMF radiation.

Mercury is poisonous as we all know. Drop a thermometer and we freak. It's also a necessary part of most compact fluorescent bulbs. So what if we accidentally drop an energy saving bulb?

And how do we get rid of them when they die? Land fill garbage dumps? At least the American’s who bought in excess of 150 million energy saving bulbs in 2006 are aware of this problem and are working on safe disposal outlets. So New Zealand as “world leaders” why aren’t we disposing of them safely here? Shouldn’t this be an important part of the plan?

Mercury affects the nervous system. We all know the saying “As mad as a hatter” (from Alice in Wonderland). This originated with 19th-century hat makers who were continually exposed to Mercury’s toxicity.

Besides making us insane it can damage the kidneys and liver and exposed to enough it will kill us. O.k, these are probably extremes, but in whatever quantities there is, it is going to damage our health.

We may not break a bulb very often but every bulb will have to be disposed of. American government scientist Steve Lindberg found that some of the mercury emitted from landfills is in the form of vaporous methyl-mercury which can get into the food chain, more readily than inorganic elemental mercury, when released directly from a broken bulb.

Electro sensitivity is the most extreme symptom of exposure to EMF when the suffer can’t lead a normal life, watch TV, use a computer, phone or ride in a car. But any of the following symptoms could be the result of EMF.

And researchers in England claim energy saving bulbs can trigger migraines, epilepsy, and lupus.

There is an alternative that saves more energy than any other bulb and is completely safe – LED bulbs.

But in New Zealand, and many other countries LED bulbs are only available as a GU10 fitting (for small, originally halogen, spot lights) or not at all. They are of course available by mail order – but - ouch the price. You need to be a millionaire to replace all the light bulbs in your home. Or maybe there could be some government grant to help the rest of us?

Night terrors are not nightmares.

Night terrors, also known as sleep terrors affect 15% of all children. They must not be confused with nightmares. They are terrifying to those that experience them and those that watch helplessly. There has been no cure for night terrors – until now. Night/sleep terrors must not be confused with Nightmares which are some thing different.

If you have never had one, if you have not witnessed one then you can be forgiven for dismissing a night terror as a mere nightmare. If you want to see the difference go to our night terror page

Don’t misunderstand me, a night mare is horrible, frightening, makes you feel out of sorts, disturbed even. But a night terror is just that – terrifying. A nightmare affects only the one that dreams it. A night terror is just as frightening for those that stand by watching helplessly. As they affect 15% of children that is a hell of a lot of parents that see there kids suffer – and can do nothing to help them. This goes against the very grain of parent-hood.

What can you say to a mother on the phone who is describing the symptoms of her child and wants advice as to what she can do to stop this cycle of awful events. She can’t put a title of night terrors to the condition all she knows is that she doesn’t understand what is happening. Her most basic instinct is to protect her child and she doesn’t know how. What a dilemma.

The web is wonderful for giving us information. A Google search brings such positive results. Sadly not so with night terrors – the answers are so negative. What comfort does the information that your suffering child (or even you) will out grow them – hopefully. Some children never do.

What about right now? The only advice is don’t wake them or chastise them, but give them a cuddle. How can a mum or dad comfort with a cuddle a thrashing, screaming child that doesn’t recognize them? Your child not recognizing you how disturbing is that.

Discovering that what your child suffers is called night terrors doesn’t make any difference. Doesn’t make it go away or any easier to cope with. What it does mean though is that there isn’t some thing uniquely wrong with your offspring. That they are one of 15%.

I had been a sufferer. Like most other people I couldn’t understand what was happening to me, or put a name to it. Energy cleansing for better relationships!

Energetic house clearing, house or space cleansing means clearing your home of negative energy so that the cr*p from yesterday doesn’t’ ruin today.

In the developed world we conveniently flush away our bodily wastes directly after we produce them. If you can tolerate a disgusting thought for a moment so that I can illustrate my point: What if, instead of pulling the flush, we decorated our houses with it! Not a pretty thought is it but, in terms of energy, this how most of us are living our lives.

Emotion is literally energy in motion. When we vent our negative emotions we are energetically fouling our environment. Negative energy then builds up in our homes and we are living in an energetic (unflushed!) toilet.

If you are aware that disturbed negative energy needs to be constantly cleansed from out homes and workplaces perhaps you are familiar with smudging. This is a ritual involving the burning of white sage in the house. There are other rituals and techniques that people use. In Feng Shui this usually involves using salt. I believe these techniques are just ways of focusing our intent. As we are much more powerful than most of us believe, these techniques probably work pretty well most of the time. The trouble is that you need the consciousness to do it regularly. Unless you are energy sensitive the need might not be as apparent as the need to flush the toilet!

Natural Therapies and Natural Health Expo was a huge success.

The Auckland Natural Therapies and Natural Health Expo brought together practitioners of many modalities, SCIO machines, naturopathy, herbalists, Ortho-Bionomy, Reiki, Pilates, Iridologists, Nutritionists, Kinesiology, Body Talk, Colour Therapy, Avatar, Reflexology, Therapeutic massage, Neurological Integration, Homeopathy to name just a few! There were also books, seminars and lots of shared information.

It was where we started – traveling around New Zealand doing shows. Of course Expo is a grander name for exactly the same thing. Maybe an Expo is on a bigger scale but the bottom line is that it is a great way to meet people and show them what we do.

The Natural Therapies and Natural Health expo in Auckland last week did just that, it re-united us with lots of old friends and introduced us to many more new ones. Fabulous!

An hour before the doors opened a very familiar face came to our stand. Not placing it at first I thought that it had to be some one taking a break from setting up their stand. After all it was an hour to kick off. But no - somehow Chris (an Auckland hypnotherapist) had by-passed security which just goes to show how relaxed and pleasant it all was.

As an old customer of ours Chris’s enthusiasm set the scene for the next couple of days. This is some thing that he said that is great to share;

“I gave a small silver Nu-me to my 14 year old daughter and the number of mood swings and arguments has drastically reduced. I also use the p.e.bal at work by the computer and it has made a difference in reducing stress levels”

Dealing with teenagers is not always easy as I know from personal experience, but then they are taking steps into a pretty aggressive world as up and coming adults. After the doors closed on Saturday afternoon packing away the stands, posters and sales terminal was done with a mixture of sadness that it was all over, looking forward to exciting future possibilities and feeling completely pooped!

If we thought that the Expo was over and that we were now going to regroup and plan our next steps we were very mistaken! Our feet haven’t touched the floor since!

The relationships that we forged at the Expo have continued with phone calls, meetings and wonderful feed back. One of these was from a practitioner who phoned urgently needing stock after she has given one of her patients with a neck injury treatment on her machine. Microwave ovens need a government health warning

We disregard the health hazard caused by microwaves because of convenience. Scientific research proves that the dangers of microwave ovens include cancer through food conversion to carcinogens.

They are everywhere. Most homes have one. Chic cafes heat up your muffin or smoked salmon quiche in one. Take away joints use them. Motel rooms have them. The biggest (not counting cell phones) convenience of our modern age – Microwave ovens. How did microwaves get so big?

Well as it turns out it was the Nazis who actually invented these ovens. They were used in their mobile support calling them the “radiomissor”. These ovens were intended to be used for the invasion of Russia. If they used electronic equipment for preparation of meals on a mass scale, it meant that they didn’t need cooking fuels and could produce edible hot food very quickly.

It was after the war that the Allies discovered medical research done by the Germans on microwave ovens. These documents, along with some working microwave ovens, were transferred to the United States War Department and classified for reference and "further scientific investigation".

The Russians also retrieved some microwave ovens and have since done thorough research on their biological effects. This resulted in the Soviet Union banning their use. The Soviets issued an international warning on the health hazards, both biological and environmental, of microwave ovens and similar frequency electronic devices.

This is a summary of the Russian investigations published by the Atlantis Rising Educational Center in Portland, Oregon:

Carcinogens (a substance that causes cancer) were formed in virtually all foods tested. No test food was subjected to more microwaving than necessary to accomplish the purpose, i.e., cooking, thawing, or heating to ensure sanitary ingestion.

* Microwaving prepared meats sufficiently to ensure sanitary ingestion caused formation of d-Nitrosodiethanolamines, a well-known carcinogen.

* Microwaving milk and cereal grains converted some of their amino acids into carcinogens.

* Thawing frozen fruits converted their glucoside and galactoside containing fractions into carcinogenic substances.

* Extremely short exposure of raw, cooked or frozen vegetables converted their plant alkaloids into carcinogens.

* Carcinogenic free radicals were formed in microwaved plants, especially root vegetables.

This doesn’t look good but what exactly does this do to our bodies?

* Eating food processed from a microwave oven causes permanent brain damage by "shorting out" electrical impulses in the brain.

* Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods. This affects the sex drive and fertility.

* Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit.

* The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free-radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.

* Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous tumors.

* The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.

* Continual ingestion of microwaved food lowers the immune system.

* Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

* Microwaving alters elemental food-substances, causing digestive disorders.

* Microwaved foods lose 60 to 90 percent of the vital-energy field and microwaving accelerates the structural disintegration of foods.

* Microwaved foods lower the body's ability to utilize B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics.

So in conclusion - microwaves cause cancer and other diseases. They destroy the goodness in our food and weaken our bodies.

Why, oh why then are we still using them? Is it worth ruining our health because of the convenience of a quick meal? Shouldn’t all microwaves have a government health warning like cigarettes “This machine will injure your health” or even “This microwave will eventually kill you and those you love”

Still more facts if you aren’t convinced enough to have already put your microwave out for recycling.

A Swiss study led by biologist and food scientist Dr. Hans Hertel identified the effects of microwaved food. For eight weeks, eight people lived in a controlled environment and intermittently ate raw foods, conventionally cooked foods and microwaved foods. Blood samples were tested after each meal. The microwaved food caused significant changes in blood chemistry.

And………………

We must not overlook EMF (Electromagnetic Frequency) emissions fro microwave ovens either. They add another health hazard into the dimension. All in all Microwave ovens are pretty disastrous – and – in more ways than one!
